Week 4 Leadership Project Sharing Session2

I plan to meet with two critical friends from class: Nyssa Arcos and Chuks N. whom I believe will give me straight forward and helpful responses about my project, if it meets standards, and/or how it can be perfected for publication.

Ok, so now... beyond my wildest imagination, I can expand to the global level. I can possibly make my submission to an international association. My top choice (tentatively) is ICSA- International Sport & Culture Association. It sounds real good and it seems to apply very much to my AR. I just hope its qualifiable.

After reading up on ICSA and watching their introductory video, I am very much inclined to submit my work here. Their mission and purpose sounds very similar to mine. I have attached the link to an awesome video outlining ISCA overall.

Here's just a bit of information from their site that convinced me that this may be a good choice!

SPORT AND CULTURE FOR ALL
ISCA’s philosophy is that sport is not just about competition and exercise, but also involves having a good time and making friends. Moreover, sport regulates social behaviour and creates a feeling of belonging – which in turn leads to a strengthening of democracy.

ISCA was created in 1995 with the purpose of:
- supporting cross-border understanding through sport and culture
- promoting sport as a bearer of cultural identity
- encouraging the broadest possible participation in sports and cultural activities for affiliated members

Week 4 Publishing/Leadership project Part 2 of 3:

As I contemplate submission on this level, I am concerned about to whom and where. On the next higher level, I would consider expanding nationally. I was considering AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) but wasnt sure if it qualifies... It is a national organization where thousands of young athletes in every state of the US participate. I'd also like to consider the NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) and NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) These are the "big wigs" of competitive sport, who receive youth on the next level. I've played D1 (Division 1 level) women's basketball in both the NCAA and NAIA. This is big business that would create many opportunities.

It is my hope that I am on the right track with where I wish to submit my project. The conference list that is available is not directly applicable to my topic of improving communication among athletic coaches and players of organized sports teams.

Considering that my AR is athletic in nature and caters to student-athletes who are High School aged and who play organized team sports, it would be advantageous (and logical) for me to submit to the numerous colleges that are in the city of Jacksonville. There are at least 4 major ones that I know of that are within reach:

Jacksonville University
University of North Florida
Edward Waters College
Florida State College
